If you are visiting this website because you got a card from someone today…welcome! We hope you were encouraged and that the remainder of your day was fantastic!
So who are the crazy kids that gave you the card?
We are a group of college students from Columbia, SC, here in DC to serve during our Spring Break.
What are we about?
The Gospel of Jesus. Not organized religion and the connotations that you may have with it. Not hate-filled language that you may associate with Christianity today. Not hypocrisy and judment. We realize that Christianity hasn’t always represented Jesus well and for that we are sorry, and we hope to be a better representation of Jesus to you. Because, well–He loves you. Deeply and unmistakably. He created all of humanity for a love relationship with Him, but we have all rebelled against His love and chosen lesser things to devote ourselves to that in the end leave us desperate and hopeless. But the good news for all of us is that, while we were still sinners Christ came and died on a cross for the ungodly. We believe the God of the universe literally came and died for me and for you. He did this out of an insane love for all of us, that we could respond to His grace by repenting of our sin and enter into a reconciled relationship with Him for all eternity. Sound too good to be true? I know! But it is true, and He is true.
This is the good news of the Gospel that we want to share with you. We believe two burning longings of the human heart are to be known and to be loved. The Gospel speaks to both–that God knows you, even the deepest, darkest parts of you that you are ashamed of, and yet He still loves you so much that He came to be slaughtered on a cross so that He could freely invite you back into His family. You may have never felt wanted in your entire life, and we want to speak the glorious truth to you that although we have all betrayed God with our sin, He wants us back! He wants you back! Back in His family, at His table with Him, forever. This is the good news that has radically changed our lives and that we want to share with you. God loves you. Desperately. And so do we.

Grace and peace,

“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5.18-21
hey!
this is the brown-haired one of ‘those two art girls’ that high-fived your group today.
I have to admit, I really admire the missionary work that you guys are doing. What a crazy coincidence to see you later at urban outfitters- neither of us had been there in months, and were only there for a short period of time with my visiting friend. I would have liked to say a few things(I checked out the website as soon as I got back to my apartment), but that soundtrack was just so funky and the clothes so delicious that I lost any productive train of thought that might have ever crossed paths with my mind.
I feel as though it wasn’t just coincidence that I saw you guys again and couldn’t sleep until I left this comment. I strongly admire your message and recognize your desperate plea to have people become aware that they are not alone and are very much loved by God, and his son, Jesus Christ. This is why I feel the need to say that I believe that Christianity does have an honest representation of what this message stands for. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I implore you to look into it for yourself. I have personally come to find that it is the true church among the corrupt counterparts, and love it very much!
Again, your faith is impotent, and it shall not go unrewarded. :]
have a good spring break!

I just wanted to reach out to you guys and see how things were doing back in the DC! A little of my story is that i lived completely in the world for about 18 years and then when i was a senior in high school all my sin was brought to the surface. Street racing, drugs, alcohol, girls, it didnt matter i completely became encompassed by sin. God is so good though becuase He sent a buddy of mine to call me out. his angle was simple, bait me to church with a girl! that turned into mission. i went on mission to clemson south carolina and on the final day as i was completely broken for Christ. it was an amazing feeling becuase the weight of the world was lifted. it was by no means a quick fix or dramatic change. it was a process that lasted for about 3 months until i truly let God into my heart. it was 9-21-05 when i first felt God. he washed over me at a worship service. ever since life has been a struggle. not the same becuase now i know the ending. i will succeed becuase Christ is in me. I struggle daily with the same issues the only difference is who i turn to. the key is life change. you must change your life. the only thing that can change it enough is Jesus. complete faith in the Gospel(good news) that Jesus died on a cross for US and then rose three days later. that is the good news becuase HE SAVED US by doing that! He is so amazing. its so tough though. i am not promising an easy road but i am promising and end point, being heaven. God will bless those that truly repent and follow him. That truly love one another. Thats why we came to DC, to show love. Christians have messed the name up so bad that we felt the need to show what christianity truly is, relational and loving. God is love. Sacrificial love. Complete love. ALL TYPES!!! guys i just wanted you to see what Christ has done for me in the very abridged version so if you have any questions or jsut want to talk let me know. leave your email and ill get with ya. Love you guys!!
Shawn
